hope / wish / want / desire / expect

1. hope 意为“希望”， 主要用来表示主观上的愿望并对其实现抱有信心。可接不定式，for短语或that引导的从句，但不可接“宾语＋不定式”。

2. wish 意为“希望；想要；但愿是...”， 表示某种未完成或不能完成的愿望。其后接的从句要用虚拟语气，也可接不定式、复合宾语、双宾语和“for+名词结构”。

3. want 意为“想要；希望”， 一般指想要的东西是期望得到的东西，能弥补实际需要。其后跟名词、代词或不定式。

4. desire 意为“渴望；愿望”， 可作名词或动词，语气较正式、庄重，着重渴望的力量与热切，常含有强烈的意图和目的。作动词时后接名词、不定式、不定式的复合结构。

5. expect 意为“期待；期望”， 指希望或预期某事将发生，着重相信或认为有客观可能，确信某事必将发生；常用于好的事情，也可用于坏的事情，其后接名词、不定式或从句，不可接for短语。
